A legendary Long Island player and coach, Bernard Tomlin was brought to SUNY Old Westbury in 2001 to transform the men's basketball program into a regional power. Entering his 18th season as Old Westbury's head coach, Tomlin has shown that his teams are always competitive, work hard in practice, and strive to be solid citizens.   

Bernard began his coaching career at his alma mater Hofstra University as an assistant coach. Tomlin went on to work as an assistant at St Bonaventure University, Duquesne University, and the University of Rhode Island, Coach Tomlin has been the head basketball coach at William Paterson University, Adelphi University, and Stony Brook University. Tomlin has been honored by his peers as Coach of the Year several times.  When he was head men’s coach at Stony Brook University, he was selected Coach of the Year by the Division II New England Collegiate Conference. In 2003, 2004, and 2013 while coaching at Old Westbury College, he was honored as Coach of the Year by the Skyline Athletic Conference.  

Coach Tomlin has over 30 years of coaching and playing experience at the professional and collegiate levels. Tomlin was an All-Long Island player at Malverne High School, where he is member of the one-thousand-point club and holds the individual single game scoring record of 45 points in a regulation game.


Tomlin’s accomplishments on the collegiate level include the top first year scoring record at the University of Utah, with an average of 30.1 points per game, and the Hofstra University record for the most field goals scored in a game at 20.  Tomlin was a sixth-round draft choice of the now Utah Jazz organization. Bernard’s Hofstra team is also cemented in Hall of fame at the college for its NCAA Championship appearance during his senior year. 

Bernard is currently representing the Skyline Athletic Conference as congressional representative in the National Association of Basketball Coaches and is also a member of the Board of Trustees for Long Island Teen Challenge.

Sheldon Bailey is currently a Nickelodeon TV star on the show Game Shakers, but he's so much more.
Before starring on TV he played professional basketball in Ecuador, China, and Taiwan. He played here in the US in the CBA, ABA, IBL, USBL, and many high profile basketball events for Red Bull and Nike. Bailey has starred on 75+ TV show episodes and 75+ national commercials with some of the biggest names in sports like LeBron James, Kevin Durant, Steph Curry, James Harden, Shaquille O’Neal, Chris Paul, even Peyton Manning and Cronos from "God of War". He is currently featured in the video game NBA 2k18 as ATM, and starred in 2k15.


Sheldon was a standout prep player. Reaching the #1 player spot in NC and top 30 nationally. He was invited to every major prep camp including ABCD, Nike All American Camp, Olympic Development Festival, NBA Players Camp.

He garnished high major recruitment but tore his ACL his Jr. Year of H.S., while averaging 21 points and 11 rebounds. Recruitment dropped off.

Bailey accepted a scholarship to Winthrop University. Winthrop was a mid major program in South Carolina known for winning conference championships and going to the dance, which they did Bailey's 1st year. They got to dance with one of the all time great Duke teams. Sheldon Bailey an ACL injury to the opposite knee a week before transferring to Florida International University. At FIU he had a more focused attitude towards his grades and campus life. He became the poet Laureate at that school; he was the basketball team captain/spokesman, and the president of the Black Student Union.

Bailey forewent his 5th year of legibility after graduating on time with a 3.3 GPA and a degree in Political Science.

Let's now focus on Sheldon Bailey, the coach, trainer, and youth mentor. Bailey has been working and running camps since he was in high school. In between "making it" in Hollywood and playing on pro basketball teams Bailey was training prep athletes. He did fitness training for all high school sports and basketball skill training. Bailey understands the dynamics of the body and its thresholds. As a trainer he knows what it takes to become a better, more conditioned, flexible, durable, mentally strong, athlete. He led group and private training sessions. He's had kids make high school teams, accept college scholarships, win national championships. He's coached camps, women's semi-pro basketball, AAU, Pro-Am basketball. He's played on every level. He's been dunking since he was 12. He use to dunk from the free throw line off two feet in games. He still can ball. Sheldon has been LeBron James' body double for 8 years now while doing commercials with LBJ. You got to be focused in the gym to keep up with "The King" for so long. He has a great basketball mind. He's an accomplished athlete, trainer, and an A class person.
Sheldon was a D.A.R.E. role model for elementary school students when he was in high school. He continues his charitable nature to this day through his support of multiple organizations like S.O.S. Children's Villages, Xtreme Unity, Apex for Youth, and The Power of Education Foundation. Bailey routinely speaks to kids at schools and events where he host popular meet and greet sessions.

Rich Berscak AKA “RichieB”; was born in Brooklyn NY and raised on the blacktop basketball courts of NYC. RichieB has been involved in youth basketball up and down the Atlantic Coast for over 30 years. A Sachem Graduate and US Navy Veteran RichieB Played on School Teams and US Navy Teams.  On these teams he has exhibited a true passion for the game of basketball. He has relationships with former and current NBA Players; Division 3; Division 2; and Division 1 Coaches; also with Prep & Private School Coaches; while he is totally committed to improving the lives of the youngsters that he works with.
